By the time she was five, Tracie was swimming competitively and went on to represent The Bahamas in many Caribbean swimming events. Her love for the water motivated her to begin working for a swim school while she was receiving her high school and college education in Florida. Though she graduated with a degree in teaching, after only one year in the classroom, the water was calling her back.
Tracie’s nearly 35-year career has led her to direct numerous swim schools, host summer swim camps, establish satellite programs, and train/manage swim school staff from Weston to Port Saint Lucie. Tracie frequently attends national conferences to learn the latest advancements in the industry, as well as to network with other thriving swim schools around the world. She has presented her water safety curriculum to audiences around the globe.
Tracie brings her knowledge, experience, and passion for the world of swimming to direct the operations at Fish Tails Swim School. She is passionate about water safety and drowning prevention, doing her part to change the frightening statistic that the leading cause of death in children between the ages of 1 and 4 is drowning. She encourages families to have fun in the water, learn to swim safely, and make swimming an essential part of everyone’s life.
Out of the pool, you’ll find Tracie at the beach with her sons.
Donna relocated to Stuart, Florida, in 2017 from the northeastern state of Delaware where she was born and raised. She worked for Dupont for 10 years prior to taking a leave from the corporate world to raise her three children. Donna then returned to Corporate America to pursue a career in banking for 30 years, retiring in 2018.
Donna took some time off to explore her new environment in South Florida when she received a phone call from Ms. Tracie at Fish Tails as a referral for another job applicant. After speaking with Ms. Tracie for some time, she mentioned she was looking for a job, and the rest is history! Donna fell in love with the Fish Tails’ mission and vision and has been enjoying her position at Fish Tails ever since.
In her free time, Donna likes boating, bicycling, swimming, walking, reading, cooking, motorcycle racing (yes, you read that correctly!), snorkeling, and kayaking with her friends and family.
